The Patricia Reser Center for the Arts in partnership with the City of Beaverton Arts Market is pleased to announce a call for artists for its second annual exhibition and sale, The Curio. Visual artists in Oregon and Washington are invited to apply. The focus of the exhibition and sale is on original works of art, small gifts, and artist reproductions. To be considered, artists must have a strong body of work, demonstrate superior craftsmanship, and have a considerable inventory appropriate to your work with multiple pieces available for sale. Please note, we will not be featuring holiday specific items in this exhibition.
Deadline for applications to be submitted is Sunday, May 5 before 11:59 pm Pacific Time. Due to the submission deadline being the weekend, staff will not be available to assist you with your application after 5:00 pm on Friday, May 3. We suggest you do NOT wait until the last minute to apply to this call. Late applications will not be accepted. Submitting an application does not guarantee participation in this opportunity. A selection process will follow, and artists will be notified.
Application Bootcamp: The Reser Gallery staff will hold two application info sessions over Zoom on Friday, April 12 at 1:00 pm and Friday April 26 at 2:00 pm. To RSVP and receive the Zoom link, please send an email to gallery@thereser.org with subject heading “Curio Bootcamp”. The info sessions will be recorded, and a link will be posted on the gallery website for those unable to attend either session.
To be equitable to all artists, please do NOT call the gallery, or come by with artwork for consideration.
Eligibility:
- Artists must reside in Oregon or Washington.
- All work must be original and created by the artist.
- All artworks must be for sale.
- Artwork must have been made in the last 2 years.
- Artwork submissions by students and youth are encouraged!
- Artists who participated in the 2023 Small Wonders: Exhibition & Sale are eligible to apply but may not submit the same work that was shown in the exhibition.
Acceptable Media:
- 2D - Paintings, Drawings, Photographs, Encaustic, Prints, Fiber, Paper, Pastel, Digital, Collage, and Mixed-Media.
- 3D - Ceramics, Wood, Metal, Glass, Sculpture, Jewelry, Textiles, and Mixed-Media.
- Reproductions - Prints, Small Photos, Totes/Bags, and Small Decorative Works.
- Stationery - Cards, Gift Sets of Prints, Paperwork’s, and Photo Cards.
Submission Guidelines:
- Artists must submit their application through Submittable by Sunday, May 5 at 11:59 pm. Late or incomplete applications will NOT be considered.
- Artists may submit up to 5 works that demonstrate artistic style and medium.
o We encourage artists to present a range of works for consideration.
- Image file names must contain artists’ first and last name, the number of each submission, and artwork title.
o Example: Your Name_1_Artwork Title
- Artists must enter artwork details for each submitted work. This list will include entry number, artwork title, medium, dimensions, year, and price.
- 2-D artworks must not exceed 20inch x 20inch in size, including frame and matting.
- 3-D artworks must not exceed 20inch x 20inch x 20inch in size.
- Artists must include a short statement (500 words max) bio (250 words max) and a headshot.
Fees: The Reser requires an application fee of $25 to cover administrative and juror costs. A 30% commission will be taken on all sales occurring throughout this exhibition. Artists should factor prices accordingly. If a future commission is requested while works are on display, The Reser will facilitate negotiations with the artist and patron and take a 30% commission off the sale of the commissioned work.

- Call Goes Live: March 15, 2024
- Call Closes: May 5, 2024, at 11:59 pm – LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
- Artists Notified: Mid-June – please do not call or write to the gallery to inquire about the status. All accepted and declined artists will be notified via email.
- Artwork Delivery: October 15 & 16, 2024
- Exhibition Opens: November 1, 2024
- Exhibition Closes: December 23, 2024
- Unsold Artwork Pick-up: January 2 & 3, 2025

About the 2024 Market The Beaverton Night Market will be held in Central Beaverton on Saturday, August 17 from 5-10pm at The Round (12600 SW Crescent St, Beaverton, OR 97005).
Mission & Goals The Beaverton Night Market exists to create a vibrant, intercultural, family-friendly space that is reminiscent of night markets internationally. The Market offers a culturally-relevant evening activity and gathering space with ethnic food and crafts for families of all backgrounds in Beaverton.
Goals:
- Foster a space for cross-cultural exchange and interaction by community members
- Create a space for emerging ethnic food and craft vendors to showcase their work and share their tradition
- Promote economic opportunity for culturally-specific businesses in Beaverton
- Offer a fun, safe and family-friendly cultural activity locally

Misión y metas El mercado nocturno de Beaverton existe para crear un espacio vibrante, intercultural y familiar que recuerda a los mercados nocturnos a nivel internacional. Thank you for your interest in the 2024 Beaverton Volunteer Fair! This event will take place on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Beaverton City Library, located at 12375 SW 5th Street, Beaverton, OR 97005. Organizations that wish to participate in Volunteer Fair are welcomed to apply.
Timeline:
- Applications must be received no later than Monday, April 8th by 5pm.
- Groups will be notified of selection by Tuesday, May 7th.
Cost: There is no fee for volunteer groups to participate.
