Now, it’s easier than ever before to go solar! The City of Beaverton is partnering with two area solar contractors to offer special discounts available only to Beaverton residents.

Adding solar to your home offers many benefits to homeowners. More than 300 Beaverton residents have already upgraded their homes to solar power and are experiencing a decrease in energy bills, reducing their carbon emissions, and becoming more energy independent. As a result, more than 2.5 million pounds of CO2 have been offset!

HERE'S HOW TO GET STARTED:
1. Attend a workshop. The city is offering four free Introduction to Solar workshops for residents. These workshops will provide an opportunity to learn from experts about what installing solar looks like, what financial incentives and tax credits are available to you, and give you a chance to meet our Solar Beaverton staff and partners.

2. Request a solar analysis & bid for your home. Once you have all the knowledge you need, you will fill out a Solar Analysis & Bid Request online. This will be sent directly to one of our partnering contractors and ensure that you get access to the Solar Beaverton discount.

3. Receive a personalized quote. After your Solar Analysis & Bid Request is submitted, one of our partnering contractors will contact you to begin a remote evaluation of your home’s solar potential. You will receive a customized quote that includes an estimate of annual generation and utility cost savings, as well as the cash incentives and tax credits you are eligible to receive. The Solar Beaverton partner contractor will answer any questions you have about incentives, tax credits, equipment, installation, and maintenance.

4. Upgrade and start saving! Once an agreement between you and the contractor is reached – your work is done! The contractor will complete all paperwork required for incentives and tax credits, secure permits and equipment, coordinate with the utility, schedule subcontractors and manage the installation once work begins. After completion, the work is inspected by the city and verified by the Energy Trust of Oregon to ensure the system meets installation standards. Then, the contractor will walk you through the system and answer any questions you have about your new solar installation.

To receive program services and eligible discounts, residents must request a site evaluation before August 15, 2017.
