A St. Paw-trick’s Day Celebration for Dogs and Their Friends


Furry, short-haired, small or large, bring your dog to Beaverton’s first-ever Pooches on the Green event, a St. Paw-trick’s day celebration for dogs and their friends.

When: Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Beaverton’s City Park, 5th St. at Hall Blvd. (across from the Beaverton City Library)
Who: You and your dog!

What’s happening?

  • Wearin’ o’ the Green parade and costume contest for dogs (and their owners!)
  • A K-9 demonstration by the Beaverton Police Department
  • Green energy info from Green Mountain Energy
  • Demonstration and dance-a-long with Murray School of Irish Dance
  • Bagpipe performance by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Pipes and Drums
  • Dog ear art project for kids with the Beaverton Arts Commission
  • Silly pet tricks, best kisser and pet look-a-like contests
  • “Ask a Vet” with Murray Hill Vet
  • “Read with the Dogs” from the Beaverton City Library and Dove Lewis
  • Crisis planning for pets from the Beaverton Emergency Management program
  • Visits with service dogs from the Delta Society
  • AKC Good Citizen Training
  • Dog rally course

Registration is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Contest winners will be announced at 1:30 p.m.

The first 100 dogs registered will receive goody bags with treats courtesy of Nature’s Pet!

Please follow these rules for an enjoyable event for all:
  • Socialized dogs welcome.
  • Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. For safety reasons, “extend-a-leashes” will NOT be allowed.
  • Pet poop must be picked up!
  • Female dogs in heat are not permitted.
  • Officials reserve the right to refuse entry to any dog whose behavior could be dangerous to others. Please use good judgment regarding the temperament of your pet so that this event will be safe and enjoyable for everyone.
  • No bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, etc. are permitted for safety reasons.
  • Due to potential health risks, dogs younger than six months old cannot participate.
  • Dogs entered must be currently licensed with proof of Parvo and Rabies vaccinations. You do not need to bring proof with you; if an incident occurs, you must be able to produce proof within 48 hours.

Pooches on the Green will take place rain or shine.
