Betty Bode

Councilor Betty Bode was elected to the City Council in the November 2002 General Election. Betty began her first term of service on January 6, 2003. Betty was re-elected in 2007. Betty served on two City Commissions prior to her election to the City Council:

  • Human Rights Commission for the City of Beaverton, OR. Serving as the Charter Chair and then commission member—1993 to 1997.
  • Planning Commission for the City of Beaverton—2000. The experience and knowledge she gained while serving on those commissions has given Betty a strong understanding of City processes and procedures for maintaining a quality standard of living for the residents of the city.

    • The mission of the Virginia Garcia Clinic is to provide high-quality comprehensive and culturally appropriate primary care to the communities in Washington County. The clinic is a federally qualified health clinic that receives federal dollars to serve those individuals that are without resources and other barriers to receiving health care. In the first year of operation 79% of the patients that qualified to be seen at the clinic had a Beaverton zip code.
