125th Ave Extension (Brockman Rd - Hall Blvd)

Project Description:
Construct an arterial roadway between Hall Blvd and Brockman Rd/Greenway Dr to align with the existing 125th Ave to the south.

Project Status:
FY07-08: Cost refinement and alternatives analysis. FY08-09: Additional predesign and right of way acquisition.

Lombard (Broadway to Farmington) Realignment, MSTIP3

Project Number: 3306

Project Description:
Realign and widen approximately 572 feet of Lombard Ave between Broadway and Farmington Rd to 3 lanes and install curbs, bike lanes, planter strips, sidewalks, storm drainage, street lighting, and landscaping. This street project is being coordinated with the Commuter Rail (Wilsonville-Beaverton) project. Project Status:
Lombard is open to traffic (from Farmington Rd to Canyon Rd) with no lane restriction but, there is some on-going construction in the area. The contractor will continue to do work outside of the roadway section completing installation of sidewalks, landscaping and illumination. The City of Beaverton has begun landscape and hardscape work on the parcel of land between "old" Lombard and the new, realigned roadway at Broadway.

Rose Biggi Ave Extension (Crescent St to Hall Blvd)

Project Number: 3316

Project Description:
Construct a 560-foot extension on Rose Biggi Ave from Crescent St to Hall Blvd. The street section will be composed of two 12-foot travel lanes, two 8-foot parking lanes, and two 10-foot sidewalks with trees planted in tree wells for a total right of way width of 60 feet. Other improvements include a new bridge at Beaverton Creek, storm drainage, water, sanitary sewer, street lighting, and irrigation.

Project Status:
FY07-08: Project on hold pending coordination with adjacent property owners and stakeholders. FY08-09: Complete IGA with ODOT, select engineering consultant for environmental work and bridge design, and begin design. Total project cost estimate: Design - $690,000; ROW - $2,060,000; Construction - $2,800,000.

Dawson Wy Extension To Hocken Ave

Project Number: 3317

Project Description:
Extend Dawson Wy approximately 250 feet to the west and connect to Hocken Ave. Scope includes two 12-foot travel lanes, two 8-foot parking spaces, curb, and sidewalk. Work also incluudes extending a 12-inch waterline and storm drainage pipes and structures.

FY08/09: ROW acquisition, complete design and land use. FY09/10: Construction

Franklin Ave Utility Improvements (2nd St - 9th St)

Project Number: 4010

Project Description:
Construct approximately 2400 feet of 8-inch waterline and associated valves, hydrants, and water meters on Franklin Ave from 2nd St to 9th St and on 8th St from Tucker St to Franklin Ave. Also, rehabilitate approximately 2300 feet of existing 8-inch sanitary sewer pipe and 30 sewer laterals.

Project Status:
FY07-08: Complete project design. FY08-09: Complete construction in the Summer of 2008.

1st St (Watson-Lombard) Utility Improvements

Project Number: 4047

Project Description:
Install 1522 feet of 8-inch waterline on 1st St from Watson ave to Lombard Ave and 700 feet of 8-inch waterline on Washington St from 2nd St to Farmington Rd.

Project Status:
Design complete. Construction to be performed by City construction crews beginning October 1, 2008.

Oleson Rd (Fanno Creek - Hall Blvd), MSTIP3

Project Number: 5036

Project Description:
This MSTIP3 project includes two improved travel lanes, intersection and safety improvements, and bike and sidewalk facilities the length of the corridor. The project limits extend from approximately 575 feet north of SW Hall Boulevard to the south side of the Fanno Creek bridge, approximately 800 feet south of the intersection with the Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy. This segment of SW Oleson Road is a Washington County minor arterial that runs through three jurisdictions: unincorporated Washington County, the City of Beaverton, and the City of Portland. The total project length is 2.63 miles.

Project Status:
The construction contract was awarded to Emery and Sons of Stayton, Oregon in the amount of $13,378,736 in 2006. The contractor continues with the storm drain and retaining wall installations north of Vermont. New curb, gutter, and sidewalk construction as well as road widening and reconstruction continues between Garden Home and Canby. Installation of illumination pole bases and related conduit has begun just north of Garden Home Road. The new signal at SW 80th Avenue, in the south segment, is now operational. Project is being managed by Washington County.

170th Ave/173rd Ave (Baseline Rd-Walker Rd), MSTIP3

Project Number: 5037

Project Description:
This MSTIP3 project includes approximately 3800 feet of street improvements on 170th Ave and 173rd Ave consisting of two 12-foot travel lanes, one 12-foot left turn lane, two 5-foot bike lanes , and two 6-foot sidewalks, and intersection and safety improvements. This $8.1 million project is part of the voter-approved MSTIP 3 program. It will connect Walker Road and Baseline Road utilizing the 170th Avenue and 173rd Avenue corridors. All alignment options will cross Willow Creek, just south of Walker Rd, on 173rd Ave. To minimize environmental impacts at this creek crossing, a box culvert will be built at this location. A new signal will be installed at the intersection of Lisa St at 170th Ave. Detention will be required to account for the new impervious surface runoff. Wetland enhancement will offset roadway impacts to the local environment. Wetland mitigation will occur as close to the project as possible.

Project Status:
FY07-08: Obtain land use and environmental permits. FY08-09: Project schedule - Begin construction in the Summer of 2008 and complete construction in the Spring of 2010. The project is being managed by Washington County.

Cornell Rd (Evergreen Pkwy to Bethany Blvd), MSTIP3B

Project Number: 5051

Project Description:
This project will rebuild and widen 5500 feet of Cornell Road to five lanes from NW Evergreen Pkwy to NW 158th Ave. Work will include a portion of Bethany Blvd from Cornell Rd to the Hwy 26 (Sunset Hwy) right-of-way. Improvements will include bicycle lanes, curbs, sidewalks, landscape strips, three traffic signal modernizations, signing, striping and sound wall installations where appropriate.

Project Status:
The construction site has been cleared in preparation for road work and erosion control. Tree protection has been installed and the contractor is installing the storm lines and drainage structures throughout the project. Work on replacing the old traffic signal loops with cameras for the video detection system is being done for the traffic signals at 167th and 158th through the end of February. Work on the retaining walls will begin near the end of February.

173rd Ave (Walker to Cornell) Street Lighting

Project Description:
Installation of street lighting on 173rd. Ave from Walker Rd to Cornell Rd in order to meet minimum street lighting standards for the safety of motorists and pedestrians.

Project Status:
FY07-08: Complete project design. FY08-09: Complete installation of street lighting in the Summer 2008.

110th Ave Traffic Calming

Project Description:
Provide traffic calming measures on 110th Ave from Center St to Cabot St in accordance with the City's Traffic Calming Program.

Project Status:
FY07/08: City staff completed work with the neighborhood to prepare a traffic calming design. The project design was approved by the neighborhood, the Traffic Commission and City Council. FY08/09: Construction is anticipated in the Summer of 2008 by City Forces.

Beaverton Creek Trail (Hall-Lombard)

Project Description:
Acquire easements, construct a portion of the Beaverton Creek trail between Hall Blvd and Lombard Ave on the north side of Beaverton Creek, and enhance native vegetation with the creek corridor.

Project Status:
FY06-07: City staff finalized an IGA with Metro for the local share of the Natural Areas bond measure. FY07-08: Begin design and acquisition of easements. FY08-09: Complete design and acquisition of easements and begin construction. FY09-10: Complete construction.

Cabot St/113th Ave Traffic Calming

West Slope Sanitary Sewer Improvements

Looking Glass Subdivision Utility Improvements Phase 1

Project Number: 6039

Project Description:
Sanitary: Replace or rehabilitate approximately 3,100 feet of 6-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch pipe with 8-inch and 14-inch pipe on various streets. Storm drainage: Replace or rehabilitate various storm drain pipes and catchbasins. Water: Replace approximately 4200 feet of 6 inch and 8-inch water mains on Alice Ln, Duchess Ln, Tea Party Ci, MadHatter Ln, Bruce Dr and Griffin Pl and install a 12-inch main on Alice Ln, Duchess Wy and Queen Ln.

Project Status:
FY07/08: Complete study of the public utilities in the North Looking Glass Subdivision area and make recommendation on the utilities to be replaced or rehabilitated and project phasing over multiple fiscal years if appropriate. Complete project design of Phase 1. FY08-09: Complete construction of Phase 1 and begin design of Phase 2 . Engineering contract awarded to TetraTech/KCM on 10-15-07. Design complete in April 2008. Project awarded to Emery & Sons Construction on 06/16/08. Project began 07/08/08.

South Central Area "C" Utility Improvements

Project Number: 6043

Project Description:
Sanitary: Rehabilitation of 5860 feet of sanitary pipe on Menlo Dr, Hazel St, Berthold St, Pearl St and 6th St in accordance with the Jan 2004 Sanitary Sewer Master Plan. Water: Replace and upsize 2380 feet of waterline with 12-inch pipe on Menlo Dr from Allen Blvd to 6th St and 1300 feet of water line with 8-inch pipe on Hazel St between Erickson Ave and Menlo Dr and in accordance with the Water System Master Plan. Storm drainage: rehabilitation of 5670 feet of 30" to 48" storm drain pipe along 141st Ave, 6th St, Spencer St and Menlo Dr.

Project Status:
Design 60% complete. The project has been expanded to include the replacement of a portion of the 21" Erickson Interceptor with a 27-inch pipe. Also 1500 feet of 8-inch waterline on SW 6th between Menlo and Erickson will be replaced.

Looking Glass Subdivision Utility Improvements Phase 2

Project Description:
Replace or rehabilitate old sanitary sewer main lines and laterals on Lombard Ave (Baker St to Allen Blvd), Iron Horse Ln, Why Worry Ln, and Cheshire Rd and upsize the water line on Lombard Ave (Baker St to Allen Blvd) to 12" DIP.

Project Status:

Main Ave (Farmington-Allen) Sanitary Sewer Renewal Project

Project Number: 6069

Project Description:
Replace or rehabilitate approximately 96 sewer services totaling 5,760 feet and approx 4,000 feet of existing 8-inch concrete sanitary sewer main lines on Main Ave from Allen Blvd to 7th St.

Project Status:
City Forces will complete all replacement and/or rehabilitation work.

87th Ave (Fairway-Birchwood) Utility Improvements

Project Number: 6070

Project Description:
Replace approximately 380 feet of 10-inch sanitary sewer pipe with 12-inch pipe on 87th Ave south of Fairway Dr. This section of pipe replacement is within City limits and is a part of a larger CWS pipe upsizing project between 90th Ave and Parrway Dr. CWS is managing the project. City responsibility is to fund that portion of the total project within City limts.

Project Status:
FY07/08: Coordinate details of IGA with CWS. FY08/09: Complete IGA with CWS and provide assistance to CWS during construction, if necessary. After construction, City Forces will complete the necessary street rehabilitation on 87th Ave.

Beaverton Creek Channel Enhancement (Hocken Ave - Cedar Hills Blvd)

Project Number: 8022B

Project Description:
Enhance approximately 800 LF of the Beaverton Creek channel between Hocken Ave and Cedar Hills Blvd. This project is for construction only. Project design was completed under Project 8022. The project includes removal of non-native vegetation such as blackberries, approximately 6000 CY of excavation above the ordinary high water line, the installation of 10,000 SF of prefabricated modular retaining walls, and the planting of hundreds of wetland plants, shrubs and trees.

Project Status:
FY06/07: 90% plans were completed in Jan 2007. The Metro Nature in Neighborhoods Bond Measure was approved in Nov 2006. The amount of the bond measure funding allocated to this project is currently $456,000. Continued coordination with State and local agencies to obtain the necessary environmental permits and with adjacent property owners to obtain easements. FY07/08: CWS Service Provider Letter obtained on 11-14-07. Project advertised on 2-26-08 and mandatory pre-bid held on 3-11-08. Bids opened on 04-01-08 and the low bidder was Northwest Earthmovers, Inc. Council awarded project to NEI on 5-5-08. Tree Plan 1 approved 5-15-08 (appeal period ends 5-26-08). Project began on 6-8-08 and was substantially complete on 9-19-08.

Valley View Ct Storm Drain Improvements

Project Number: 8052A

Project Description:
Construct a storm drainage system on Canyon Ln from Walnut Ave to Valley View Ln to include a 48-inch pipe surface runoff detention system.

Project Status:
Pipe work complete. Paving to be completed the first week of October 2008. Survey for record drawings to be completed by October 31, 2008.

Erickson Creek at Farmington Rd/Menlo Dr Water Quality Facility

Project Number: 8074

Project Description:
Construct a greenspaces area and water quality facility along Erickson Creek at the southeast corner of Farmington Rd/Menlo Dr. This project is included in the recently approved 2006 Nature in the Neighborhood Metro bond measure.

Project Status:
FY07-08: Completed IGA with Metro and acquired 12,299 SF of property adjacent to Erickson Creek from owner of TL1S116AC04700. FY08-09: Complete project design, obtain permits and land use approval, and award project. FY09/10: Construct greenspaces.

7th St (Lombard-Alger) Utility Improvements

Project Number: 8075

Project Description:
The project will install a drainage system that will allow for the elimination of the nuisance flooding and replace an existing old cast iron 6-inch waterline with an 8-inch ductile iron waterline.

Project Status:
Engineering design contract awraded in April 2008. Construction by City Forces anticipated to begin in the late Summer 2008.
