Energy Efficiency—BCP saves energy equal to the annual average electrical use of more than 160 homes. When the Round is complete, the annual electrical savings will exceed 300 homes.
Greenhouse Gases—As a result of operating efficiencies, BCP currently reduces CO2 emissions by 900 tons annually.
Stable Pricing—Despite the rapid rise in utility rates over the last several years, BCP heating and cooling prices have increased only 3% annually.
The BCP System includes nearly a mile of underground and in building pipe which holds nearly 20,000 gallons of water in the closed loop system.
Expansion—As the Round is completed the BCP system will grow to serve all buildings. Current system expansion is funded by the Oregon Department of Energy.
