BCP is automatically operated using proprietary Hartman “Dynamic Control” technology. Operation of the boilers, chillers, pumps, and tower fans is automatically coordinated to maximize operating efficiencies at all times. An important focus of this unique operating strategy is dynamic optimization of the system. The equipment is not operated in a traditional manner to maintain water temperature at set points. Instead, within broad temperature and flow ranges, the controls network operates the boilers, chillers, pumps and tower fans to predetermined relative power consumption relationships to deliver minimum energy use. In this way, the chiller plant operates as a single integrated system, which is the key energy optimization strategy.
