Parking—Cars, Motorhomes & Trailers

Depending on where you park your car, truck, recreational vehicle, or trailer, it could create a hazard or detract from the appearance of the neighborhood. Please remember, the main function of public streets is to allow for the safe passage of vehicles. Temporary parking is allowed on most streets in Beaverton, but the streets are not storage yards. A summary of parking regulations designed to prevent a hazards and improve the appearance of neighborhoods follows:

  • A vehicle is considered abandoned if it is left on a public street for more than 48 hours. Exception: If the vehicle is operable, currently registered, and parked in front of the registration address.
  • An inoperable vehicle left on private property is considered to be a discarded vehicle. It must be made operable, or be put inside a garage, or be removed from the property.
  • 5th wheel parked on street Boats and trailers are only allowed to be parked on public streets for 48 hours.
  • RVs are only allowed to be parked on the street for up to 48 hours.
  • Do not park oversized vehicles within 50' of an intersection where they will block vision at the corner or obscure a stop sign.
