Will it appear on my driving record?

Yes. The Court is required to submit all convictions to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) within 24 hours of sentencing.

Is there anything I can do to keep a conviction off my driving record?

No. The Court doesn’t offer classes or any other options to keep a conviction from being recorded.

Please see the information under Seatbelt Diversion and Youth Offender Program for more information on those options. If you are eligible for these programs, you may be able to have the citation dismissed.
