Youth Offender Program

Eligibility

To be eligible for this program, you (the person cited) must be:

1. Under 18; and
2. This is your first traffic citation ever.

Guidelines

1. Appear before the judge with a parent.
2. You and parent review program and sign contract if you wish to participate in the Youth Offender Program. The judge will also sign the contract.
3. Pay the $49 fee for the program to the Court as you leave.
4. Take the packet home and review the enclosed materials and fill out the Review Sheet. Discuss driving safety with parents.
5. Do not get any other citations for six months. Return to court in six months to confirm you haven’t received any further citations for moving violations. Failure to appear for the six month court date could result in your license being suspended.
6. If you have met all the obligations, your case will be dismissed. If you have received another moving violation, this citation will not be dismissed and a fine will be assessed.
