About Dispute Resolution

The City of Beaverton’s Dispute Resolution Center is a service of the Mayor’s Office providing mediation services and conflict resolution education for the citizens of Beaverton, and all citizens of Washington County east of 185th Avenue. We have been serving the community since 1988. The Center’s mediators are professionally trained staff and community volunteers who are skilled in communication and conflict resolution.

Mediation is free, confidential, voluntary, and a good alternative to going to court. The Center has an ongoing commitment to teach citizens about the nature of conflict, and how they can better manage and resolve everyday conflict in their lives.

The Center does not provide legal advice, assistance, or representation. It does not provide counseling services for individual or family problems. Center staff are not advocates, nor do they represent any party, in a dispute. However, when a problem is not suitable for mediation, our staff will give you the referral information you need to get your difficulty addressed in the correct place. The Center does provide interpreters for phone or in-person conversations for those who may not speak English or for whom English is a second language.
