      Provides adoption centers for dogs and cats, lost and found/pet reunions, spay/neuter awareness/education, emergency veterinary rescue services, humane and safety education, pet identification (microchip implants), cat identification tags and euthanasia. All animals are sterilized before adoption.     • Spay/Neuter Assistance Plan (SNAP)

      Provides spay/neuter discount certificates worth $20 for males/$30 for females. For guardians with low or no income only. Apply in-person at Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd., Portland. Must bring photo id and proof of income. OHS also administers a special loan program for dogs (and cats not able to utilize SNAP) of up to $50 per animal. Guardians can apply online.

    • Essential Health Clinic - Free Urgent Healthcare

      Free urgent healthcare for children and adults without health insurance or access to medical care. We treat acute infections (ears, eyes, skin, bladder, etc.), fevers, recent onset of acute pain, serious cough, cold, and congestion, rashes, asthma, gastric distress, minor burns, and minor injuries (sprains).

      Services not provided. The clinic is not set up to provide general physical exams, immunizations, care for long term ailments of many years duration (i.e. low back pain), treatment for depression or anxiety, prenatal care, or emergency or trauma care (refer immediately to the Emergency Dept.).

      No appointment needed. Random numbers are given out at 5 p.m. Please do not arrive before 5 p.m. Expect to be here 3 to 4 hours. Everyone will have a consultation with a registered nurse, however, not everyone will see a doctor.

    • City of Beaverton Prescription Discount Card

      The prescription discount card can be used anytime your prescription is not covered by insurance. This new program includes an average savings of 20 percent.
      • The card is free and provides coverage for all family members.
      • It even covers medications for your pet (medication must be a covered human medication. Medications made exclusively for animals are not covered).
      • Nine out of ten pharmacies nation¬wide participate in the program.
