The updated Engineering Design Manual and Standard Drawings was adopted in Ordinance 4417 on January 23, 2007. Ordinance 4417 became effective on February 22, 2007. The adopted updated text and Standard Drawings are posted below.

City Engineer’s Interpretations
City Engineer’s Interpretations are issued by the City Engineer to clarify the meaning of the Engineering Design Manual and Standard Drawings under the authority granted the City Engineer in sections 9.05.016 and 9.05.140 of the Beaverton City Code and shall become effective on the effective dates listed in each Interpretation.

Requesting revisions to the Engineering Design Manual & Standard Drawings

All requests for modifications of the Engineering Design Manual and Standard Drawings shall be made to the City’s Engineering Department, to the attention of Peter Arellano, in accordance with Section 145 of the Engineering Design Manual (the “Manual”).

To request changes to the Manual, you must submit a hard copy of your proposed changes with completed request form (PDF) or in another approved form, to:

Requesting or Appealing a City Engineer’s Interpretation or Review

All requests and appeals listed below shall be made to the City’s Engineering Department, to the attention of Peter Arellano, in accordance with Section 145 of the Engineering Design Manual.

  • Request for a City Engineer’s Interpretation
  • Request for a City Engineer’s Review
  • Appeal of a penalty for violation of City codes or standards administered by the City Engineer
  • Appeal of an action, decision, clarification, or interpretation by the City Engineer

Unless specified otherwise, to appeal or request a City Engineer’s Interpretation, you must submit a hard copy of your proposed changes with the completed appeal/request form (PDF) to:
