Ian King
Ian was elected to the City Council in 2010. Prior to serving on the City Council, Ian served as Vice Chair of the Beaverton Budget Committee, which is responsible for reviewing the City budget prior to submission to the City Council for approval. He was also appointed to the Sister Cities Advisory Board that is dedicated to cross-cultural understanding and promotion of educational and economic exchange among the citizens of Beaverton and its sister cities around the world. In addition, Ian volunteered as a professionally trained mediator for the Beaverton Dispute Resolution Center.

Background & Education
Ian has a bachelor of arts in mathematics from the University of Southern California and a master's of business administration from Chapman University.

In addition to his community experience with the City of Beaverton, he has more than 20 years business experience as a project manager, financial analyst, and contract manager in diverse industries such as construction, healthcare, and information technology. He is also a college educator in the field of public health administration.

Ian previously served on the Board of Directors for the Oregon chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association from 2007-2009. He continues as a member and volunteer. Ian is a certified volunteer producer for Tualatin Valley Community Television and is also a member of the Oregon Business Education Association, the Oregon Mediation Association, and the Bicycle Transportation Alliance.

Ian lives in the Sexton Mountain neighborhood of southern Beaverton with the love of his life, his wife Kim, and their young son Samuel.
