About the Bicycle Advisory Committee

  • Membership: There are 9 members. Members should represent Beaverton's bicycling community.
    You can use our Boards and Commissions Application to apply for an opening.
  • Powers and Duties: The advisory committee's duties include promoting bicycle use in and around the City of Beaverton; providing City staff with public review of proposed projects, as they may affect bicycle circulation, access, and general use; evaluating the existing bikeway system and recommending development priorities for the Bikeway Capital Improvement Program.
  • Meetings: All members are expected to attend all meetings. All members should share a common interest in the goals of bicycle use and are expected to be familiar with City transportation plans, codes, and policies. All members are expected to be active participants in committee deliberations in a public setting.
  • Materials: All members are expected to read all of the materials related to their meetings, some of which can be long and somewhat technical.
  • Time Commitment: All members should be willing to dedicate several hours each month for preparation and meeting time.
