The Storefront Improvement Program offers architectural design services and construction matching grants to help businesses improve their curb appeal to draw in more customers. Business and property owners located in Old Town or along Allen Blvd (see map on application, links below) are eligible for matching grants towards exterior improvements. Two grants are available:
A city contracted architect is available to help prospective applicants develop a concept and create a scope of work that can be sent to contractors to obtain bids.
Step 1:Contact city staff to determine eligibility. Step 2: Identify scope of work and obtain bids as needed. NOTE: City will require at least three competitive bids for project elements over $5,000, only one is required at time of application. Step 3: Complete and submit the Program Application. Step 4: Letter of Commitment issued at application approval. Step 5: Submit city Design Review, Sign Permit, or other applications as needed. Step 6: After all permits approved, construction may begin. Step 7: Submit paid receipts to city for reimbursement at completion of work.
