This two-day workshop will explore mediation in the workplace and examine differences between workplace and community mediation contexts. Attention will be given to working with HR and workplace laws, as well as levels of intervention and approaches to resolving workplace conflicts. Basic Mediation Training is a pre-requisite for this course.
The advanced training is an opportunity for mediators to expand their skills and practices as they encounter more complex cases in the workplace. Using demonstrations and role-plays, participants will also gain competency using the three models of mediation: Interest-based, narrative & transformative. Additional course objectives will focus on learning to manage the natural energy of a conflict, practicing ways to guide the more complex mediations through probing, addressing a conflict that occurs in the moment, and mediating multi party cases.
