Responsibilities
The Geographic Information System (GIS) Section of the Information Systems Division (ISD) plays an invaluable role within the City of Beaverton by providing high quality and accurate GIS data, analysis and mapping to support the business needs of our city employees and the public.
What is GIS
A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a framework for gathering, managing, and analyzing location based data with digital technology. Geographic information is used by virtually every activity in a local government, whether it be to locate a water main, manage resources, establish public policy or establish the boundaries for neighborhood committees.
