BEAVERTON, Ore. – The City of Beaverton Arts Program is offering a new addition to its grant program in 2019. The Art Lives Here program supports community-led place and neighborhood-based art projects that activate and enliven publicly-accessible places and enhance Beaverton’s neighborhoods. Project duration may vary and could be a one-time placemaking event, performance and creative wayfinding, or other artwork installation that is on display temporarily or permanently.
In 2019, the city will invest $15,000 in grants through the Art Lives Here program. This is not a matching-grant, but applicants are encouraged to leverage other funds raised to augment their projects. Funding requests may be up to $5,000 per project.
All applicants should provide detailed information on what opportunities they are seeking funding for, the challenges or site conditions that are being impacted and what this project would contribute to Beaverton residents. Applicants should explain why this project is relevant to the community and public space for which it was imagined, and what is hoped to be achieved both short and long-term if this project is awarded a grant.
The deadline to apply is Thursday, Mar. 14 at 5 p.m. For more information and to apply, visit www.BeavertonOregon.gov/ArtSubmit.
Financial support for artists and non-profit visual, literary and performing arts organizations are available to those who serve the Beaverton community. For questions about grant guidelines or applications, contact the Beaverton Arts Program at artsmail@BeavertonOregon.gov.
