BEAVERTON, Ore. – It’s time to hop into spring! Join your neighbors for a helicopter egg drop on Sunday, April 14 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Scholls Heights Elementary School (16400 SW Loon Drive).
Bring your family and friends for this fun springtime event featuring a helicopter that will drop plastic eggs filled with goodies from the sky onto a field for kids to collect. This free community event also includes a bouncy house, carnival games and giveaways. Everyone is welcome.
“We are excited to bring a fun new spin on the classic Easter egg hunt,” said Neighbors Southwest NAC Chair Elliot Otteson. “We hope that it will inspire literal laughter and new friendships in the community.”
The Helicopter Egg Drop is hosted by the Neighbors Southwest NAC (Neighborhood Association Committee) and is sponsored in part by the city’s Neighborhood Matching Grant Program. Additional event sponsors include Horizon Community Church, Payne West Insurance and Cinetopia Progress Ridge.
The Neighborhood Matching Grant Program supports efforts to improve and enhance community spaces and cultivates opportunities for neighbors to host community-building events or improvements. Successful past projects include theatre and concerts in the park, reading programs and book drives, tree plantings, neighborhood welcome signs, and more.
All are also invited to attend an upcoming Neighbors Southwest NAC meeting to find out how to get involved in your neighborhood. Upcoming meeting dates are Wednesday, April 17 and Wednesday, May 15 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Mountainside High School in the Community Room (12500 SW 175th Ave). Future agendas include planning for a free summer event for the neighborhood to enjoy.
The Neighbors Southwest NAC is a network of neighbors that meet to discuss ideas and issues, and work on projects to improve our community. Anyone that lives, owns property, or represents a business or nonprofit within the neighborhood boundaries is already a member.
