November Events Include a Beer Walk, Toy Drive, Night Market and More!

BEAVERTON, Ore. – Beaverton hosts events throughout the year, and we don’t slow down in fall. November is full of fun, area happenings.

Senior ID Theft and Fraud Prevention Forum | Saturday, November 2 | 10 AM-1 PM | Elsie Stuhr Center, 5550 SW Hall Blvd.
The Beaverton Committee on Aging and THPRD’s Elsie Stuhr Center present a Senior ID Theft and Fraud Prevention Forum. Speakers include representatives from the Washington County Sheriff’s Elder Safe Program, the Department of Consumer & Business Services Division of Financial Regulation, and a State Elder Financial Exploitation Specialist.

Old Town Untapped | Saturday, November 2 | 2-6 PM
This beer walk is sponsored by the Beaverton Downtown Association and 13 downtown businesses that will host local craft breweries for a downtown-wide tap takeover style event. Tickets are $25 and will give you the ability to sample limited-time drinks during the duration of the event. Come explore the community, try new beers and make some friends! Teen Art Show | November 6–10 | During library hours | Beaverton City Library, 12375 SW 5th Street
Check out art by local teens in grades 6-12 and cast your vote for the People's Choice Awards! An Opening Reception will occur on Wednesday, November 6 from 4 to 5 p.m. The show will feature an impressive array of both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional artwork. Last year, the show featured more than 200 works of art by 138 artists.

Toy Drive | November 15 through December 15
Help make the holidays brighter for your Beaverton neighbors by dropping off a new, unwrapped toy between November 15 and December 15. Drop-off locations include The Beaverton Building (12725 SW Millikan Way), Beaverton City Library (12375 SW Fifth St.) Murray Scholls Branch Library (11200 SW Murray Scholls Pl.) and the Griffith Drive Building (4755 SW Griffith Dr.). This year, our goal is to give 800 gifts to families and children in need. Gifts for teens are especially needed. Sports equipment, art supplies, board games and gift cards are great ideas.

Car Seat Clinic | Saturday, November 16 | 9-11:30 AM | Beaverton Kuni, 3725 SW Cedar Hills Blvd
The Beaverton Police Department and area partners conduct free child car seat clinics throughout the year. A certified technician will help parents and caregivers learn to install and use their child safety restraints properly. No appointment is required, just drop by during the event.

One Book, One Beaverton Kick-off Party | Saturday, November 16 | 11 AM –1 PM | Beaverton City Library, 12375 SW 5th Street
What if all of Beaverton read the same book? Celebrate Beaverton’s second-annual community-wide reading event, One Book, One Beaverton—receive a free copy of the book and stay for refreshments. Book title to be revealed November 1. During the month of January 2020, the library will host a series of special events designed to enhance the experience of reading the book, and the program will culminate in a literary evening with the author on Saturday, February 1.

Coffee with a Cop | Wednesday, November 20 | 7-9 AM | Starbucks at Hall/Nimbus and the 117th location
Spice up your morning by having coffee with a cop. Community members can enjoy coffee while getting to know some of Beaverton's very-own first responders.

Mattson Hellickson Dental Ribbon Cutting | Thursday, November 21 | 4-6 PM | 4720 SW Washington Street
Join us as we welcome a new downtown business! Mattson Hellickson Dental will hold a grand opening celebration at their new Old Town location. The business received a Storefront Improvement grant from the city for building improvements.

Beaverton Night Market Bazaar | November 30 through December 22 | Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays
The Beaverton Night Market Bazaar will feature arts, crafts and other retail merchandise from nearly 30 Beaverton Night Market vendors. The Bazaar will take place on weekends between November 30 and December 22 in the Bank of Beaverton Building. The Bazaar will also feature music, storytelling, craft-making and children’s programming. Come shop with us this winter!

CoSign: Old Town Unwrapped | Saturday, November 30 | 12-3 PM | Old Town Beaverton
Recognize Small Business Saturday with a trip to Old Town Beaverton to witness the unveiling of seven businesses who have had artistically-designed blade signs fabricated. Other businesses will be sharing updates of their future plans and providing insider perspectives on what to expect for downtown. The CoSign project is led by the Beaverton Downtown Association with support from the city.
