All companies located in or conducting any business in Beaverton are required to obtain a Beaverton business license.
Your business may be eligible for a Metro permit covering multiple cities (Portland not included), instead of obtaining separate permits for each city. Eligible businesses include landscaping, and commercial and residential construction. Contact Metro Opens a New Window. for more information.
Land use regulations enacted by the City for allowed uses per zone, density and other standards, are identified in Chapter 20 Opens a New Window. of the City Development Code. Home Occupation Permits
If your business will be located in your home, you may need a home occupation permit. Development Code Review
Improvements to private property, including parking lot paving or landscaping, may be subject to design review. Building Code/Fire Code Review
You may be required to obtain building, mechanical, plumbing, and/or electrical permits for your new or remodeled business. You may also need an occupancy permit or land use permit. Contact the City of Beaverton’s Community Development Department for more information at 503-526-2493.
If you plan to install or place signs outside your business, applicable standards for sign size, placement and number of signs allowed are found in the City of Beaverton’s Development Code, under Chapter 60 Opens a New Window. , Section 60.40. If you have or install a burglar alarm at your business, you must obtain an annual alarm permit from the City of Beaverton Police Department. Call 503-526-2260 for more information.
If you plan to sell or offer alcohol at your business, you must obtain a State of Oregon liquor license Opens a New Window. through the Oregon Liquor Control Commission. The City of Beaverton must also endorse your application.
